- Chiasma Event Technician and CD-ROM documentation
An online performance exchange between three international arts organizations: grunt gallery (Vancouver, Canada); Imperial Slacks (Sydney, Australia); and Folly (Lancaster, UK).
Chiasma utilized live web streaming technology to investigate the potential of international exchange and collaboration through the web. Three artists (one appointed by each organisation) was commissioned to create a piece of work specifically intended for live web cast: Léa Donnan (Imperial Slacks), Rebecca Belmore (grunt) and Hester Reeve (Folly).
Each performance was viewable virtually (on the website) as well as physically, as projections, in six partner galleries spaces across the world. These took place at: grunt gallery (Vancouver, Canada); Imperial Slacks & University of Sydney, Centre for Performance Studies (Sydney, Australia); Folly (Lancaster, UK); Nuova Icona (Venice, Italy); University of Zhaoqing (Zhaoqing, China); and Edge Intermedia Collective / Paul Pope's Studios (St. John's, Canada)
I was technical director for the over all project as well as for Rebecca Belmore's piece. Each gallery had their own crew and we had to work together for the event to be successful. A year following I created a CR-ROM documentation of the event in Macromedia Director that included essays, photos, videos and artist biographies. The cd was mass reproduced with a silk screened disk label and a full colour jacket
- Ablakela Enhanced CD-ROM documentation
A performance work by Dana Claxton with music by Johnny Mike and Verdell Primeaux - Live at the End of the Century 1999
The CD has both a multimedia portion featuring essays, photos and videos developed in Macromedia Director as well as a CD-Audio portion with the full length of songs playable in most home sound systems. The CD was mass reproduced with a silk screened disk labels and a full colour jacket.
- First Nations Performance Archive
This site is an archive of First Nations performance history at grunt gallery from 1989 to 2004. The site represents all the data currently at grunt gallery. As new information comes into the gallery, the site can easily be updated. It has nearly 5 hours of video clips.
The front end is Flash which uses Coldfusion to parse data contained in XML flat files. A database was desired but not an option at the time. XML allows ease with both updating the data and at some point implementing a database.
- INDIANacts website
INDIANacts - Aboriginal Performance Art was a three day gathering of artists and scholars to examine performance art practices arising from the Aboriginal culture.
This site is a schedule expanding the print version. Developed in Flash with a very quick turn around.
- LIVE Biennial of Performance Art websites
LIVE is a biennial festival of performance art held in Vancouver, BC starting in 1999
I developed websites with a combination of Flash and HTML to expand on the printed schedule for the years 1999, 2001, 2003 and 2005.
- grunt gallery website
I worked for grunt from the mid 90's to 2005 as both an employee and a contract worker participating in all of their new media ventures during that time in addition to developing their web presence and keeping it up to date.
- Portfolio CD-ROMs
Developed numerous portfolio CD-ROM with Flash and Director for individuals and companies. More details will be posted soon
